On 20-21 October, 2016, headed by Honuorable Minister Walter Kufakunesu Chidakwa, the six-member high-profile delegation from Ministry of Mines and Mining Development of Zimbabwe paid a visit to BGRIMM and warmly received by President Xia Xiao’ou and Vice president Han Long. During the meeting between the two sides, Honuorable Minister Chidakwa briefly introduced Zimbabwe’s mineral reserves and development of mining industry, highlighting its technoloy demands particularly in PGM metallurgy, complex refractory gold ore and efficient utilization of multi-metallic minerals, expressing his wish to upgrade Zimbabwe’s mining industry through technology cooperation with BGRIMM. Agreeing with Honuorable Minister Chidakwa, Xia Xiao’ou gave an overview of BGRIMM, expounded on its competitive advantages in areas of mining, mineral precessing, metallurgy, advanced materials and processing machinery, pledged to beef up and expand collaborations with Zimbabwean mining companies, to boost sustainable development of Zimbabwe’s mining sector and promote people-to-people exchange. During the stay, the delegation took a tour to BGRIMM R & D Center and the two sides exchange views on cooperative projects. Officials from Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe in China, senior management from Zimbabwean mining companies and staff from BGRIMM’s metallury division, mineral processing division, engineering company were also present at the meeting.
