BGRIMM’s research project of Large-scale Energy-conservative Smelting Technology and Equipment for Strategic Non-ferrous Metals was accepted and fully recognized by the experts at the appraisal meeting held at Beijing lately. Based on the country’s rising demand for efficient utilization of non-ferrous metals in short supply such as copper, zinc, antimony, nickel, cobalt, molybdenum, magnesium and etc., the project focuses on technology R&D and equipment manufacture for non-ferrous metal smelting, aiming to promote a sustainable development of the industry. Marking a breakthrough on key equipment to reduce the country's dependence on foreign imports, the successful domestic applications of the project’s seven new technologies and seven new sets of equipment are of strategic significance in accelerating localization of smelting technology and equipment, and promoting efficient utilization of domestic complex ores.
